Dry Day declared in NE States on October 2

AGARTALA, September 30 2022: The states in India’s northeast declared October 2 a Dry Day as a mark of respect to the birth anniversary of Father of Nation Mahatma Gandhi.
All bonded warehouses, alcohol shops, home deliveries, services at restaurants and pubs shall remain closed on the mentioned date
Dry Days are specific days when the sale of alcohol is not permitted. Most of the states issue such restrictions on national occasions such as Republic Day (January 26), Independence Day (August 15) and Gandhi Jayanti (October 2).
Dry days are also ordered surrounding local and national elections.
