AGARTALA, June 10, 2025: Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha said Tuesday that a day will come when the works of Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be written in golden letters and the next generation will remember them. He said that under the visionary leadership of PM Modi, India has transformed from being one of the 'Fragile Five' economies to establishing itself as the world's fourth-largest economy over the past 11 years.
Dr Saha said this while addressing a gathering of intellectuals on the occasion of the 11th anniversary of the Modi government here. Before serving the country, PM Narendra Modi worked in Gujarat as a test label. We have seen the condition of Gujarat, where there was no water to drink. But what did PM Modi do? He turned Gujarat into a model state. He took charge as PM in 2014.
"We have never seen such a Prime Minister before in history. We don’t know whether we will get such a PM in the coming days or not. During the G20, all the leaders of various countries showed great respect to PM Modi,” he said.
Dr Saha said that the country is now moving in the right direction due to the right man on the chair. We are observing Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, and Sabka Prayas. He has been working for people from all sections. PM Modi always thinks about the country. We are also working to follow the steps of PM Modi. We are also following in the footsteps of our guardians. Under PM Modi, he has shown us a new development path to go further.”
"I am confident that the way PM Modi is working for the country will be written in golden letters and the next generation will remember, and a day will come when people will conduct research. Starting from border security, technology, economy—every sector is developing,” he said.
Dr Saha said that the current government is a responsive government. We respond to people in a positive way, which we have learnt from PM Modi. We have seen how corruption took place during the previous government. Not only reforms but transformation too. We must work for all. Before 2014, what we had seen was corruption and nepotism—and this is not acceptable. Now PM Modi only speaks about development.
"We must work for ordinary people. The next generation will always remember PM Modi for this development work,” he added.
During the event, cabinet ministers and state BJP leaders, including president and MP Rajya Sabha Rajib Bhattacharjee, were present.
