AGARTALA, September 20, 2024: The Assam Rifles and Tripura Police have successfully seized 50,000 Yaba tablets, a combination of methamphetamine and caffeine, worth Rs 14.4 crore in a joint operation. The drugs were recovered from Teliamura in Khowai district on September 19, resulting in the arrest of one person and the confiscation of a Tata truck.
This is just one of the many significant seizures of drug substances made by the paramilitary force in the past two months. The recovered tablets are valued at approximately Rs 14.4 crore in the international market highlighting the magnitude of the operation.
This successful operation serves as a testament to the unwavering commitment to combatting drug trafficking and illegal smuggling activities in the region, Assam Rifles said in a statement.
