54.11% polled in second phase of assembly elections in J&K
A delegation of 15 countries visited Budgam and Srinagar districts

NATIONAL, September 25, 2024: Phase 2 polling for 26 assembly constituencies in Jammu and Kashmir concluded peacefully and smoothly with a total polling percentage of 54.11%. The highest percentage was recorded in the Khansahib assembly constituency in Kashmir division and the Mata Vaishno Devi assembly constituency in Jammu division.
The Election Commission of India (ECI) has set up 3502 polling stations for the Phase 2 elections. The prominent candidates included Vice-President of the National Conference and former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, Ravinder Raina of the Bharatiya Janata Party and Altaf Bukhari from the Apni Party.
A delegation of 15 countries including the USA, South Africa, Philippines and Norway visited polling stations in Budgam and Srinagar districts. They also visited a pink polling booth in Lal Chowk Assembly Constituency managed by all women polling staff.
