Meeting discussed PM-WANI framework to small businesses

SHILLONG, September 23 2022: DoT NE LSA conducted the third virtual meet with Prime Minister’s Wi-Fi Access Network Interface (PM-WANI) stakeholders and discussed the framework with all the stakeholders.

Benefits of PM-WANI for small merchants and shops were highlighted. Details of prospective Public Data Operators Aggregators (PDOAs) active in the North Eastern States were shared so that prospective Public Data Operators (PDOs) can contact them.

An interactive session was recently conducted during the virtual meet held, which provided a platform to prospective PDOs to directly interact with PDOAs to know their business plans and how they can become PDOs.

MK Yadav, DDG (Technology), North East LSA encouraged local shops and small establishments to become Wi-Fi hotspot providers - Public Data Office (PDO) and earn extra income from selling internet.

The meet was attended by Telecom Service Providers (TSPs), Internet Service Providers (ISPs) and existing and prospective Public Data Operators Aggregators and PDOs and Local Cable Operators (LCOs).
