CM says drone technology can boost employment, productivity

AGARTALA, February 07, 2025: Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha laid stress on the potentiality of drone technology to boost employment and productivity in various sectors, including agriculture, security, power services, wildlife conservation, disaster management and healthcare in remote areas. He highlighted the prevailing peace in the Northeast region, which has seen significant developments, such as six national highways, internet connectivity and rail connectivity under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Act East Policy.
Dr Saha was speaking at the inaugural ceremony of SKILL-UDAY TONGNAI, a skill development programme aimed at empowering students at the TIT, Narsingarh, Agartala, Friday.
Chief Minister emphasised the need to explore Tripura's potential in various industries, highlighting the state's abundant resources and the potential of the tea industry. He criticized the previous government for neglecting the tea industry stating that it was neglected for 35 years and never utilized properly.
The state has now opened a Tea Auction Center, increasing the price of Tripura tea and ranking second in GDP growth among Northeastern states.
Dr Saha also highlighted the importance of innovation in drone technology stating that it can play a crucial role in boosting employment and productivity across multiple sectors.
