CM holds 2nd high level meeting with Union DoNER Minister
Dr Saha requested founding of an AIIMS and raised development issues

AGARTALA, May 15, 2025: Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha has requested the Ministry of Development of the North Eastern Region (DoNER) to intervene on various issues concerning the state's interests. These include the establishment of an AIIMS in the state.
He brought the issues to the attention of Union DoNER Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia during second high-level meeting of the High-Level Task Force on Investment Promotion in North Eastern Region held virtually Thursday. The meeting at the state Secretariat was attended by Chief Minister who is the Convenor of the Task Force, Chief Secretary JK Sinha and secretaries and top officials from various departments of the state government.
Dr Saha sought the cooperation of the DoNER Ministry on several matters such as starting international flight services from MBB Airport, declaring the Gymnasium Academy in the state as the National Gymnastics Academy, developing the NH-06 road and providing concessions on the price of natural gas. The Chief Minister also mentioned the government's efforts to encourage entrepreneurs to set up industries in the state by developing a skilled workforce.
Dr Saha also discussed the Investment Promotion Policy for the North Eastern States, special sectors identified for investment promotion and the identification of potential investors.
In the meeting, Minister Scindia praised Tripura's significant progress in terms of GSDP, per capita income and achievement of sustainable development goals. He stated that if other North Eastern states follow Tripura's example, the region will continue to progress and develop in the future.
The Union Minister also emphasised the launch of a 19-seater flight service from Kailashahar Airport and assured cooperation in promoting and expanding palm cultivation in the state. He also suggested identifying areas for development and employment and taking the necessary initiatives to expand them.
