The event demonstrated how 5G opens countless avenues for contribution

REGIONAL, May 14, 2025: The North Eastern Regional Community Resource Management Society (NERCORMS) and Amantya Technologies have concluded the NER Tech Hackathon 2.0 Bengaluru which attracted 60 teams from colleges and start-ups across India. The event was organised under the project "Deepening of Scientific Research on 5G Use Cases for Solving Challenges of Society".
The first edition took place in Guwahati, Assam and the second edition saw over 1000 entries from over 100 countries. The event was inaugurated by Satinder Kumar Bhalla, Secretary of the North Eastern Council (NEC), who accentuated the role of 5G in development and economic growth in the Northeastern Region.
The event demonstrated how 5G opens countless avenues for contribution, empowering innovators to position the North East as India's gateway to Southeast Asia. Other guests and technology leaders were present at the event.
Raj Narula, CEO of INCA Synergies, emphasized the importance of identifying the right problem statement and achieving the right market fit. Amantya Technologies, which has eight 5G labs across the North-East Region, emphasised the NER Tech Hackathon as a launch-pad to push boundaries, fuel growth and shape the region's connected future.
After the competition, the following winners of NER Tech Hackathon 2.0 Bengaluru were announced -
· AkumenAI (Manipur) – Grand Prize (₹10L) - Thiyam Akuvan
· OncoALERT (Assam) - Runners Up (₹2L) - Jayanti Kumari
· DESIGO (IIT Guwahati Alumni) - Runners Up (₹2L)-Mahavir Bishnoi, Pooja Bishnoi, Ashwin Mahawadi
· Zeuron.ai (Bengaluru) – Runners Up (₹2L) -Siddharth Shivakumar Nair
