Chief Minister visits Padma Shri Thanga Darlong

AGARTALA, October 25 2020: Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb Sunday visited residence of Padma Shri awardee Thanga Darlong near Kailashahar in Unakoti district. He enquired well being of the centenarian and offered support.

Darlong was among the 94 Padma Shri awardees in the country in 2019.

Chief Minister had earlier felicitated him and provided him monetary assistance for bringing laurel to the state.

Thanga Darlong plays Rosem – a traditional flute, and mastered in this indigenous musical instrument.

Prior to his trip to home of Thanga Darlong, Chief Minister Deb visited a Durga puja venue in Unakoti district. The puja was organised and managed by local indigenous population.
