Chief Minister Deb meets BJP President JP Nadda

AGARTALA, July 18 2021: Amid rumours over possible reshuffle and expansion of council of ministers in Tripura, Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb Sunday met national President JP Nadda in New Delhi possibly his last in his current stint in New Delhi. He earlier called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Chief Minister Deb and state party President Dr Manik Saha are expected to return to state Monday. They rushed to Delhi on July 14 soon after oath taking ceremony of new Governor Satyadev Narayan Arya.
Highly placed sources in BJP here confirmed that Chief Minister received green signal from party high command to complete reshuffle and expansion of state cabinet without further delay as mere one and half year left for the next assembly elections.
The central leaders also advised the concerned to accommodate key rebel figures in the ministry as to dispel resentment and dissidence among MLAs in the saffron party.
Prelude to meeting Chief Minister, JP Nadda met Pratima Bhoumik, the first elevation from Tripura in union council of ministers.
Chief Minister Deb tweeted summery of his discussions with Nadda.
“During my visit to New Delhi called on @bjp4india President Shri @jpnaddaji today. Informed him about the committed efforts being made by the State Govt. for welfare of the people of #Tripura & also held extensive deliberations on various organizational matters of the party”.
