CH Vijayashankar was officially sworn in as new Governor
He replaced Phagu Chauhan who served as the 29th Governor

SHILLONG, July 30, 2024: CH Vijayashankar was officially sworn in as the new Governor of Meghalaya in a solemn ceremony held at Raj Bhavan in Shillong Tuesday. The oath of office was administered by Chief Justice S Vaidyanathan of the Meghalaya High Court.
The ceremony was attended by a distinguished gathering, including Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma, members of the cabinet, senior government officials and other esteemed dignitaries. CH Vijayashankar replaced Phagu Chauhan who served as the 29th Governor of Meghalaya.
In his last official engagement, Chauhan attended a tree plantation event.
Prior to his appointment as Governor, CH Vijayashankar was elected to the 14th Lok Sabha from Karnataka's Mysore constituency.
