Centre rejects fake news on court orders against internet users

The I&B Ministry told people to register cybercrime complaints

NATIONAL, August 28, 2024: The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has debunked fake news claiming that a court order was issued against various internet users. The Ministry Wednesday said that a fraudulent email was used to mislead users about a court order against them from the Intelligence Bureau for accessing inappropriate websites.

Besides, the email asked the users to reply to the notice within 24 hours.

The Ministry categorically denied all the claims and has urged people to register any such cyber-crime complaints on the National Cyber Crime Portal cybercrime.gov.in
