AGARTALA, February 21 2021: BSF Tripura in continuous endeavours towards maintaining the sanctity of the International border is also regularly conducting ‘Special Operations’ to eradicate the menace of Narcotic smuggling in Tripura. BSF Field Formations are regularly succeeding in neutralizing nefarious designs of trans-border Smugglers on the Indo-Bangladesh International Border.
In series of such operations since Saturday night BSF troops succeeded in giving a big jolt to the Drug peddlers by seizing 6,000 Yaba tablets, 112 kg Ganja, 1,080 Bottles of Phensedyl / Eskuf Syrup and 76 Bottles of Liquor, besides rescuing eight cattle, having combined value of Rs 37,93,436.
On February 20 based on a specific intelligence input, BSF troops of Border Outpost Lankamura with the help of BSF Canine recovered 6000 Yaba tablets worth Rs 30,00,000 and Eskuf Syrup - 310 Bottles valued Rs 39,525. Total seizure value Rs 30,39,525, which were clandestinely hidden under bamboo bushes in Lankamura under west Agartala police station.
The seized narcotics are being handed over to the police for further course of action.
On same day, BSF, police and Forest Protection Unit destructed Ganja plantation in general area of village Vainka, Duroton Choudharypara under Gram Pyanchat Batabar in Madhupur of Sepahijala district. The joint team of operation destroyed approx 4,000 Ganja saplings and also seized 14 kg Dry Ganja worth Rs 70,000 along with Dust Ganja - 5Kgs worth Rs. 15,000.
Total seizure value Rs. 85,000 from the spot. The seized narcotics were handed over tom police.
BSF made seizures of narcotics at two other places.
BSF troops deployed on the extreme frontiers of the country in Tripura are considerably seizing other contraband items like Phensedyl, Liquor, Cattle and Garments also on daily basis from bordering areas of the state.
