AGARTALA, April 08, 2025: Former Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb has criticised the Congress, Communists and Samajwadi Party for appeasing Muslims for their own narrow interests. He slammed them for their lack of competent leadership and directionless political nature.
Speaking at various party programmes in West Tripura Tuesday, Deb argued that the BJP, led by visionary leaders like Narendra Modi and Amit Shah, is being guided in the right direction for the welfare of the people. He condemned the Congress and Communists for allegedly misleading a large number of Muslims while appeasing a few, creating opportunities for Waqf property and not providing benefits to the majority of common Muslims.
He clarified reasons why Waqf Bill was brought to benefit all Muslims as political “businessmen” oppose it due to their prioritisation of the overall welfare of the people. Deb argued that politics is about creating confusion and keeping people busy, and that frequent elections waste time and resources.
He stated that only the Narendra Modi government has taken strong steps in the interest of Muslims, starting with the ban on triple talaq. Since the formation of the BJP government, no steps have been taken against the interests or emotions of Muslims.
The former Tripura Chief Minister also highlighted the manipulation of elections for narrow interests, emphasising the need for competent leadership and direction in politics.
