Bihar: Unpermitted advts barred on poll day, day before

ECI says media campaign should be pre-certified by certification committee

NATIONAL, October 21, 2025: The Election Commission Tuesday barred political parties, candidates or organisations from publishing advertisements in print media on poll day and one day before the poll day in Bihar.

Permission for a media campaign should be pre-certified by the Media Certification and Monitoring Committee (MCMC) at the state or district level, it said Tuesday in a statement.

The Commission said the restrictions necessitated to ensure a fair campaign environment. It added that applicants must seek permission two days before the proposed publication date.

ECI has imposed restrictions in Bihar on November 5 and 6 and November 10 and 11 for the media campaign purposes.
