Big News: ED searches private premises of drug lords in Tripura

Sleuths confiscated financial papers, bank and property documents, and digital gadgets

AGARTALA, January 10, 2025: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducted simultaneous raids on several properties in Agartala Friday in connection with an investigation into drug trafficking. The search operation took place in West Tripura, Gomati and Sepahijala districts targeting at least seven "drug mafias." 

The ED teams were escorted by CRPF contingents as they searched various properties belonging to suspects, including two former police officers and one surrendered NLFT extremist.

The raids lasted for almost 12 hours, starting at 6 am, during which the sleuths confiscated financial transaction papers, bank and property documents, and digital gadgets. The ED teams are currently examining these materials along with digital information in hopes of uncovering a possible nexus between drug traffickers and financial criminals.

The on-the-spot probe is expected to continue tomorrow.
