Bangladesh PM Hasina to embark second visit to India in a month
She will be holding a bilateral meeting with her Indian counterpart Modi

SOUTH ASIA, June 20, 2024: The Prime Ministers of Bangladesh and India, Sheikh Hasina and Narendra Modi, will meet in New Delhi Saturday to discuss bilateral issues. This is Hasina's second visit to New Delhi in a month, following her presence at the inauguration ceremony of India's new cabinet led by Modi.
The meeting between two leaders will focus on establishing guidelines for future relations between the two countries, with a particular emphasis on economic cooperation, communications, connectivity, and energy.
It is expected that over 10 agreements and Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) will be signed and renewed during Prime Minister Hasina's trip. The visit of Hasina to start tomorrow (Friday) will be brief, with a small entourage accompanying her.
The two leaders will hold an exclusive meeting at the Hyderabad House, with preparations currently underway for the signing of at least 14 agreements and MoUs.
On the first day of the visit, Indian Foreign Minister S Jaishankar will pay a courtesy call to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. She will then lay wreaths at Mahatma Gandhi's mausoleum in Rajghat.
Bangladesh Premier will also hold exclusive talks with President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan.
