Bangladesh delegation in Kolkata to discuss river water issues

SOUTH ASIA, March 06, 2025: The Joint Rivers Commission (JRC) officials kicked off a two-day meeting in Kolkata Thursday to discuss water distribution issues between India and Bangladesh.
The meeting, which began with Mohammad Abul Hossen leading the Bangladesh contingent, is seen as a crucial step in normalising the relationship between the two countries.
Water Resources Secretary Nazmul Ahsan stated that the meeting will discuss progress in ongoing activities and advancing work in different locations.
