Attack in Dhalai district leaves several injured, some critically

AGARTALA, October 23, 2025: Security forces deployed in parts of Dhalai district of Tripura after Tipra Motha supporters allegedly attacked local residents and government officials, leaving several injured, some criticially.

The incident occurred at Santirbazar in Kamalpur subdivision after a Motha-linked forum 12-hour general strike ended Thursday evening.

Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha condemned the violence and directed the administration to take swift action against the perpetrators.

Block Development Officer Abhijit Majumder, Engineer Animesh Saha and several local residents sustained injuries in the attack. Houses were set on fire.

Security forces have been deployed in the tension-hit areas and internet services in parts of Dhalai district are likely to be suspended. The district administration has imposed Section 163 of BNS as a cautionary measure.
