AR Rahman unveils "Headhunting to Beatboxing"
Documentary pays tribute to the real heroes of Nagaland's musicians

PARIS, May 20, 2024: Dr AR Rahman, an Academy, Oscar and Golden Globe Award-winning composer, unveiled the first look and teaser of his feature documentary titled "Headhunting to Beatboxing" at the 77th Cannes Film Festival in France. The film, directed by Rohit Gupta and produced by Rahman, explores the journey of rhythm and sound, tracing the evolution of music through generations.
It celebrates the universal rhythm that unites humanity in its diverse expressions and promises an immersive and enlightening musical anthropological odyssey. The documentary is a collaboration of many creative minds, including the TaFMA, and director Rohit Gupta.
It pays tribute to the real heroes of Nagaland's musicians, whose music embodies the ambition of the youth. This marks Rahman's second major venture into filmmaking as a producer, following his earlier production, "99 Songs."
The executive producers of the film include Abu Metha, Adam J Greig, Theja Meru, Rohit Gupta, Sheila Houlahan and Rohhit Daas.
