Amit Shah graces the 50th All India Police Science Conference

NATIONAL, November 19, 2024: Union Home Minister Amit Shah addressed the 50th All India Police Science Conference in Gandhinagar, Gujarat Tuesday. He emphasised the importance of the conference in keeping the policing and security systems relevant in the fight against crime.
He said conference has evolved in line with the changes in the country, the world, crime and policing over the past few decades.
Amit Shah highlighted India's progress under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, which has led to increased challenges. He mentioned that India's economy has grown from 11th to 5th, and by 2028, it will become the third-largest economy globally.
The Modi government has made the judicial process faster and more transparent through the digital revolution, he asserted.
During the conference, discussions will take place on topics such as new criminal laws, forensic science, disaster management, block-chain technology, cyber fraud, policing in smart cities, community policing in tribal areas and measures to address radicalization in prisons. He noted that India has undergone a transformative change in internal security and its criminal justice system under Modi's leadership.
Amit Shah also highlighted the importance of computerisation in implementing new criminal laws stating that all 17,000 police stations have been computerised and connected to the Crime and Criminal Tracking Network & Systems (CCTNS).
