Abu Metha selected as delegate for the Paris Olympics Games
AFI has nominated him recognising his expertise and experience

REGIONAL, July 22, 2024: Abu Metha, the Associate Vice President of the Athletics Federation of India (AFI), has been selected as a delegate for the upcoming Paris Olympics Games in 2024. The AFI nominated Metha for this role, recognising his expertise and experience in the field.
In a letter, AFI Secretary Ravinder Chaudhry stated that Metha's contribution will greatly benefit the Indian delegation. Metha holds multiple leadership positions within the AFI, including Working President of the North East Olympic Association and Convenor of the National Mountain Running Committee under both the AFI and World Athletics.
He also served as Team Leader for the Indian Team at the World Under 22 Athletics Championships in Nairobi, Kenya. Under his guidance, India successfully hosted the South Asian Cross-Country Championships in Kohima, Nagaland.
Metha has also played a key role in organizing the North East Olympic Games in Nagaland, where the state team achieved second place in the overall medals tally.
