REGIONAL, November 16, 2025: The 9th Inter-Collegiate Youth Festival-cum-Games & Sports Meet 2025 of Central Agricultural University (CAU), Imphal started yesterday with great enthusiasm at the College of Post-Graduate Studies in Agricultural Sciences (CPGS-AS), Umiam. This three day Youth Fest cum Sports and Games Meet organised under the guidance of Dr Anupam Mishra, Vice Chancellor, CAU, Imphal is set to continue till November 17.
The inaugural session of the event witnessed the participation of students, faculty and officials from across all the 13 constituent CAU campuses marking the beginning of a vibrant celebration of youth talent, sportsmanship and cultural unity.
Chief Guest of the event Dr Arun Kumar Sarma, Director General, NECTAR, DST highlighted the importance of extra-curricular platforms in shaping agricultural professionals.
During the inaugural, presidential address was given by Dr Anupam Mishra, Vice Chancellor, CAU, Imphal. He emphasized that youth festivals play a vital role in fostering confidence, teamwork, leadership and cultural appreciation among students. He encouraged the participants to compete with sincerity and to build bonds that transcend institutional boundaries.
Prof Indira Sarangthem, Director of Instruction, CAU Imphal, Padmashree Trinity Saio, Meghalaya, Dr Puranjan Das, Former DDG, Agri. Extension, ICAR, New Delhi, Dr Ashok Kumar Singh, VC, RLBAU, Jhansi also attended the program as guests of honour.
This year’s 9th Inter-Collegiate Youth Festival-cum-Games & Sports Meet will feature a wide range of events, including athletics, indoor and outdoor sports, literary competitions, fine arts, performing arts and cultural competitions. This youth fest will also witness motivational speech, lecture on mental wellbeing, Thinkathon, Business meet, Happiness fair and talk on integrating AI and LLMs in education and research.
The platform aims to encourage healthy rivalry while promoting unity among the constituent colleges of CAU.
