332 nursing staff to strengthen Tripura healthcare services
CM highlighted importance of nurses in the healthcare sector

AGARTALA, May 12, 2025: Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha said that the state government has initiated a process to recruit 332 nursing staff to strengthen healthcare services highlighting the importance of nurses in the healthcare sector. Dr Saha said this at an event to commemorate International Nurses Day, which coincides with the birthday of Florence Nightingale, here Monday.
The Finance Department has received the necessary allocation to recruit 100 more personnel on a contractual basis.
Chief Minister asserted the importance of the health, safety and well-being of nurses as well as their financial needs. He highlighted the significance of nurses providing primary care before doctors arrive.
Dr Saha also announced the upgradation of the Nursing Training Institute to Agartala Government Nursing College in the financial year 2023-24 and spoke about the facilities provided for B.Sc. Nursing, BDS and MBBS courses.
The 40-seat ANM Nursing Institute in Udaipur, Gomati district, has also been upgraded, he announced.
