Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla elected chairman of global forum

NATIONAL, June 08, 2025: India has been entrusted with hosting the 12th BRICS Parliamentary Forum next year with Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla taking over the chairmanship. India will play a crucial role in strengthening cooperation among BRICS parliaments and promoting a shared approach to global challenges.

Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla led delegation attended the recently held conference of 11th BRICS Parliamentary Forum in Brasilia, Brazil.

The Indian Parliamentary Delegation led by Om Birla, includes Harivansh, Deputy Chairman of Rajya Sabha, Surendra Singh Nagar, Vijay Baghel, Vivek Thakur, Dr Shabari Byreddy, Utpal Kumar Singh, PC Mody and senior officers from the Lok Sabha Secretariat.
