AGARTALA: Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha said that the state government has endeavoured to establish an international skill centre and a foreign language school aiming to enhance global employment opportunities for local youth. Speaking at the 3rd Regional Workshop under State Support Mission of the NITI Aayog in Agartala Tuesday, he underlined that governance is fundamentally about improving citizens' quality of life and ensuring that development reaches all areas aligning with the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.
Chief Minister highlighted the mission’s role in transforming federal governance into a partnership-based model where states play an integral role in shaping India's development alongside the Centre. Dr Saha described the diverse development stages of State Institutes of Transformation (TIFT) across states and Union Territories and the importance of regional workshops for collaborative problem-solving and idea sharing.
He praised TIFT for bridging policy intent with execution and for its role in developing Tripura's governance strategy, which includes modern tools for service delivery through a newly established PPP cell to attract private investment. Dr Saha noted recognition of Tripura's reform approach by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and shared that the state has attracted businesses such as the Jindal Group's steel sheet manufacturing.
This reform initiative underscores Tripura’s commitment to good governance and institutional development, he added.
