India releases half of pledged 5 million USD to the UNRWA
Hitherto provided financial support of $35 million till 2023-24

GLOBAL, July 15, 2024: India Monday released the first instalment of 2.5 million dollars to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) for Palestine refugees for 2024-25. India has pledged to contribute total 5 million dollars.
India's Permanent Mission at the UN stated that it has provided financial support of $35 million till 2023-24 for UNRWA's core programmes and services. India will also provide medicines to UNRWA based on the Agency's request.
India's Permanent Mission at the UN also called for a safe, timely and sustained supply of humanitarian assistance to the people of Palestine.
