Hyderabad holds Young India Sports Summit 2026

HYDERABAD: The Young India Sports Summit 2026 organised by the Young India Physical Education & Sports University in Hyderabad focused on national sports policies, education, research, technology and employment in sports. Special Chief Secretary Jayesh Ranjan inaugurated the event that saw participation of sports experts and policymakers highligted Telangana's potential for sports development. 

State Government Sports Advisor AP Jitender Reddy expressed confidence in the university gaining recognition, while Chairman Shiv Sena Reddy highlighted the institution's alignment with the Chief Minister's vision for meaningful engagement in sports. Dr Soni Baladevi, Vice Chairman of the Sports Authority, noted initiatives to strengthen the sector by establishing institutions and promoting grassroots competitions. 

Vice Chancellor Dr Kishore Gopinathan affirmed the university's aim to integrate global best practices in sports education. The summit included discussions on themes such as Telangana Sports Policy, Sports Education, Olympic Values, Sports Science and Para Sports featuring contributions from key organisations and industry experts. 

Distinguished guests included renowned sports personalities and awardees from across India.
