Census in Tripura to commence on May 16

AGARTALA, February 18, 2020: The census in Tripura would commence on May 16, officials said Tuesday without specifying whether contentious NPR would be simultaneously carried out.

A coordination committee under Chairmanship of the Chief Secretary has been set up to supervise the census operation. This has been in compliance with the directives received from the Union Government.

The census would be conducted in two phases. The first phase would commence on May 16 and will end on June 29.

The entire census operation would culminate on February 21 next year.
