68th Men's and 48th Women's Inter Railway Basketball Championship

REGIONAL, November 04, 2025: The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has convened the 68th Men's and 48th Women's All India Inter Railway Basketball Championship for 2025 to take place at the NFR Sports Association's Indoor Stadium in Maligaon (Guwahati) from November 3 to 11. The event received numerous esteemed participants showcasing teams from various zones of Indian Railways.
The championship commenced with an opening ceremony led by Chetan Kumar Shrivastava, the General Manager of NFR, who expressed his well-wishes for a successful tournament.
20 men's teams and 14 women's teams, comprising over 500 participants including referees and selectors, are participating. Men's matches will occur from November 3 to November 10, while women's matches are scheduled from November 6 to November 11. The men's teams include NFR, NR, ICF, ER, WR, CR, WCR, SCR and several others, whereas the women's teams encompass NFR, SCR, SWR, CR, and more.
27 referees, 6 selectors and 2 observers have been appointed to ensure the tournament's fair and smooth progression. This championship is a significant event within the Indian Railways sports calendar, intended at identifying and nurturing basketball talent, reflecting NFR's ongoing commitment to promoting sports and fitness.
