Women troops of BSF fire shots to foil smuggling bid
BSF apprehended three Bangladeshis, seize smuggling items

AGARTALA, January 12, 2025: The female unit of BSF successfully foiled a major smuggling attempt in the Ashabari (Rahimpur) border under Sepahijala district in Tripura resulting in the recovery of a large quantity of sugar and other contraband. They fired shots in their quick response to prevent the attempt.
In another operation, BSF apprehended three Bangladeshi nationals attempting to cross the border. During questioning, the Bangladeshi nationals revealed the identities of an Indian tout and a Bangladeshi tout involved in facilitating border crossings.
BSF troops have also successfully foiled several attempts of infiltration and smuggling rescued 10 cattle, and seized 1000 kgs of sugar, 16 kg of Ganja, clothing items, medicines, and other contraband worth over Rs 50 lakhs in their latest operations. The border force claims to maintain a strict vigil on the border with Bangladesh to prevent infiltration and crimes.
