Union government, World Bank support Tripura power projects
400 KV substation at Suryamaninagar in Agartala soon: Power Minister

AGARTALA, August 13, 2025: Tripura Power Department plans to construct a 400 KV substation at Suryamaninagar in Agartala to strengthen the state's internal grid and meet future electricity demand. The government has also decided to establish one Krishak Bandhu Kendra in each agricultural subdivision in a phased manner.
Power & Agriculture Minister Ratan Lal Nath was speaking after inaugurating the augmentation of the 132 KV Kailashahar Sub-station (Unakoti district) Wednesday and the new 132 KV transmission line from Dharmanagar to Kailashahar Sub-station (Gournagar).
The government spent Rs 59 crore 82 lakh on this project, which came from the Central Government and the World Bank. The plan will benefit 46,351 consumers.
The Prime Minister Narendra Modi's dream is to bring India under modern management in the agricultural sector and establish the country as the world's grain bank. The state government has decided to establish one Krishak Bandhu Kendra in each agricultural subdivision in a phased manner with 10 more Krishak Bandhu Kendras expected to be completed in the current fiscal year.
In an event, the Minister distributed various agricultural machineries among 20 farmers while 30 received fruit seedlings and 100 seed mini-kits were distributed. Dignitaries and senior officials attended the event.
