Tripura's chess prodigy to join chess tournament in Colombo
Arshiya Das will compete in the under-18 and under-20 categories

AGARTALA, July 03, 2024: Arshiya Das, Tripura's chess prodigy, is preparing to take part in the Western Asia Youth and Junior Chess Tournament in Sri Lanka. The tournament will be held at Colombo in two phases, from July 7-15 and July 16-22.
Arshiya, the only female participant from northeast India, will compete in the under-18 and under-20 categories. The renowned community club Ageye Cholo Sangha in Agartala is providing financial support for her participation.
Club secretary Suman Gupta and other officials have extended their best wishes to Arshiya.
The winner of the two events will receive the Women's International Master Norm, while the second and third place players will be honoured with the Master's Chess title in the women's division.
Prasenjit Dutta, coach at Matrix Chess Academy, has already sent his congratulations to Arshiya Das.
