Tripura sets a new record by winning maximum gold medals
State team emerged as overall champions among Indian contingents

NATIONAL, March 31, 2024: The Tripura team has set a new record by winning the highest number of gold medals at the Indo-Nepal International Masters Athletics Championship held in Nepal. The athletes from Tripura have achieved outstanding success in this competition, winning a total of 86 medals, including an impressive 73 gold medals.
Along with nine silver medals, the Tripura team has also emerged as the overall champions among the Indian contingent. The Punjab team was the first runner-up, followed by Haryana as the second runner-up.
Notably on the first day of the competition, the Tripura athletes won 43 medals, out of which 34 were gold. The team continued their winning streak on the second day, adding another 43 medals to their tally.
With a grand total of 86 medals, the Tripura team is returning home with the prestigious Champions Trophy. The Tripura Masters Athletics Association extends its heartfelt congratulations to all the players for their outstanding performance.
