Chief Minister Dr Saha invited investors to help Tripura grow

AGARTALA, December 16, 2024: Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha invited investors to set up projects in Tripura promising full support from the state government during the Northeast Investor Summit and Investment Roadshow in Mumbai Monday. He thanked the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (MDoNER) for refining investment and business prospects in the region.
Dr Saha acknowledged that historical issues have hindered the region's development. He referred to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's focus on the Northeast, describing it as "Ashtalakshmi," essential for development through the Act East Policy.
Dr Saha highlighted Tripura's peacefulness, natural gas reserves, frames and its economy which relies on agriculture. He noted that the state's per capita income is projected to reach Rs 1. 77 lakh in 2024 with an impressive GSDP growth rate of 8. 9%, making it the second highest in the Northeast.
Dr Saha outlined initiatives to improve industrial infrastructure, including the upgrade of Maharaja Bir Bikram Airport. He mentioned a new Special Economic Zone in Sabroom and opportunities for industries using local resources like rubber and bamboo.
Chief Minister highlighted Tripura's horticultural exports and its potential in tourism, particularly a Northeast tourist circuit. The event included the Union DoNER Minister and other officials.
