Tripura Covid-19 cases cross 200 mark, returnees career

AGARTALA, May 26 2020: The spurt of Covdi-19 cases, first with relentless detections in BSF battalions and now amongst stranded passengers who are returning from various locations through special trains, breached 200 mark in Tripura.
34 more people tested Covid-19 positive Tuesday taking the total number of infections in the state to 232. The tally however included two who were migrated to other states earlier.
Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb informed that those infected people are residents of the state except a family member of a BSF member from 86th battalion. 28 of rest 33 infected civilians have recently returned from Mumbai, one of India's coronavirus hotspots and other parts of Maharashtra.
Tripura has now second highest number of Covid-19 cases in northeast India after Assam which has made a huge surge with 686 cases.
In Tripura 162 infections are that of BSF personnel and their family members. Most of them have recovered and released from hospital.
Chief Minister appealed to people in general and travellers in particular to follow quarantine instructions and cooperate with the government.
