Tripura CM says important to bring in quality cricket players

AGARTALA, May 30, 2025: Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha highlighted the importance of bringing in quality cricket players from both Agartala and rural areas of the state. He underscored the need for infrastructure development to produce these players.
Dr Saha called for transparency in the Tripura Cricket Association and the need for coaches and staff to play a special role in producing good players. He also mentioned the construction of practice venues in various subdivisions for cricket.
The Chief Minister was speaking while inaugurating a voluntary blood donation camp and two purified drinking water facilities at the MBB Stadium at the initiative of the Tripura Cricket Association Friday.
Dr Saha stressed the need for proper coaching and monitoring of players' performance. He also highlighted the talent among the youth of Tripura, stating that the state has reached the top level in all aspects, including sports.
He also noted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has named the North Eastern region 'Ashtalakshmi', urging healthy competition among these states.
