Tripura: 3.9 lakh Yaba tablets valued at around ₹78 crores

AGARTALA, December 21, 2024: The Assam Rifles in a joint operation with the Customs Department and Tripura Police successfully intercepted and recovered 3.9 lakh Yaba tablets valued at around ₹78 crore. The operation took place at Gandacherra approximately in Dhalai district December 20.
The team apprehended Rakesh Mia, son of Manik Mia from Melaghar in Sepahijala district who was transporting the consignment. The operation has sent a strong message to criminal networks in the region, an Assam Rifles statement read.
It added that the successful crackdown reinforces Tripura's position as a fortified barrier against drug syndicates and underscores the commitment of law enforcement agencies to ensure peace and prosperity in the state.
