82 tribes sent to all parts of India under the programme

KOHIMA, March 27 2023: As part of the students’ National Integration Tour 2023, a Programme was organised by Students’ Experiences in Inter-State Living Monday at the Raj Bhavan with Governor of Nagaland La Ganesan as Chief Guest.
Speaking at the function, the Governor said that the student experience in Inter-state was founded in the year 1965 as an initiative of the then members of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad under the Presidentship of Acharaya Giriraj Kishore. He apprised the students that SEIL has been helping in promoting a sense of oneness among every student of our country especially in promoting the feeling of brotherhood between the youths from Northeast India and the rest of the Nation. 
The Governor said the trust has since then worked magnificently in conducting annually study tours and cultural exchange programs touching the lives of over 1500 students since its inception. He mentioned that to achieve this, SEIL underwent the mammoth task of accommodating where they were treated not as quest but members of the family.
He further said the experience tour would be helped students to understand local culture and habits better and also helped the host to understand the diversity of cultures that existed in other parts of the country. Since the inception of the program there have been over 3000 host families who have been touched by the program, he added.
Governor said that in addition to its continuing approach towards national integration SEIL has been working for skill development, financial literacy and education amongst the youth of North East India. He delivered that the Yuva Vikas Kedndra was started in 2000 with an aim to facilitate a platform for the enriching of energy of youth of North East India for the progress of Nation through its personality development and leadership programs, internship opportunities and holistic training for community development.
482 students from NE were sent to 21 states in February 2023. Governor commended and complimented each and every student who took part in the initiatives over the years; and encouraged that they are the future leaders who will help build a bright and healthy society. Governor also gave compliments to SEIL for giving students the opportunity to overcome differences and instead focus to build a strong and vibrant democracy.
The chief quest also gave away the participation certificates to SEIL delegates and interacted with them for their experiences. Eight SEIL delegates who shared their tour experiences said they have visited many remarkable monuments, historical places, universities, and also enjoyed with their food and culture.
SEIL 2023, co-coordinator Nagaland Tharila Yim who delivered welcomed addressed said that it is mainly focus on the NER of India to connect with the rest of the states and a sense of unity among the states. She said 82 tribes from entire NE state approximately were sent to all parts of India on February 2 2023,out of which, this year Nagaland had 12 tribes from 10 different district numbering 38 students were send to visit the states of India to learn the culture and traditions of different states.
The programme was chaired by Nuzise sangtam and invocation was pronounced by Unit secretary, Kohima Peteneilhou Mechiilho. The vote of thanks was delivered by Jesse K Awomi.
