AGARTALA, April 29, 2024: The intense heat has greatly disrupted daily life and business in Tripura and other parts of the region. In response, the state government has ordered the closure of all schools due to the harsh climate.
Temperatures have soared above 40 degrees Celsius, causing a scorching heat wave.
This has led to a shortage of drinking water in many remote areas of Tripura. The Indian Meteorological Department has forecasted that most of India will continue to experience a heat wave for the time being, but also predicts that rainfall will occur soon to provide relief from the high temperatures.
