REGIONAL, March 19, 2025: The 1st Northeast Social Work Conclave 2025 organised by the Indian Awaz Foundation and the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) Government was held at the Gauhati University on International Social Work Day. The event aimed to discuss the evolving role of social work the importance of formal education in the field and the impact of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in sustainable development.
Chief Executive Member of BTR Pramod Boro delivered an inspiring address on the transformative role of social work in nation-building. Wilson Hasda, Executive Member of BTR, emphasised the need to bridge the gap between policy and grassroots efforts for long-term social impact.
The conclave featured panel discussions, expert-led sessions, and interactive engagements, bringing together representatives from social work institutions, NGOs, corporate CSR leaders and academicians.
The Pledge Wall Activity, led by Chief Guest Pramod Boro, emphasised the core values of compassion, unity and action in social work. He led the pledge by writing "Only love and peace can protect the world."
The event marked the beginning of an annual movement to recognise and empower social work professionals across the northeast.
