State-of-the-art weather radar to be set up in Tripura
CM’s meeting with Jitendra Singh also focused Agartala-Akhaura rail link

AGARTALA, February 16, 2025: Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha Sunday met with Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh in the national capital to discuss various development issues. These included advanced weather forecasting, administrative matters and boosting the bamboo industry in the state.
The meeting also touched upon the newly inaugurated Agartala-Akhaura railway link, which aims to improve connectivity between India's Northeast and Bangladesh. During the meeting, the Chief Minister also requested technological support for improved forecasting and disaster preparedness following heavy rainfall last year.
In response, Dr Jitendra Singh, who oversees various departments, assured Dr Saha that state-of-the-art weather radar will be set up within a year, allowing for real-time weather predictions for rainfall and cyclones. The meeting also highlighted the Centre's commitment to supporting Tripura's development through technological advancements, administrative coordination, and improved regional connectivity.
