Centre approves Rs 288.93 crore for flood relief in Tripura

AGARTALA, February 19, 2025: The Union Government has approved an additional central assistance of Rs 288.93 crore for Tripura under the National Disaster Response Fund (NDRF) in view of devastating floods that struck the state in August last year.
This approval came after Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha met with Union Home Minister Amit Shah on February 15 to discuss the extent of the damage caused by the floods and the necessary relief measures for the affected people.
After the meeting, Union Home Minister Shah assured Dr Saha of all necessary help. In expressing his gratitude, Chief Minister Saha stated that the additional central assistance of Rs 288.93 crore will be a boon to the disaster-affected people in the state.
He also added that this allocation will help the state achieve its developmental goals that were hindered by the floods in 2024.
Dr Saha took to his social media to thank Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah for their continuous support for Tripura.
