40 chess players participated in event Matrix Chess Academy

AGARTALA, March 25, 2024: Sangeet Das (1596) and Prabjot Bhattacharya emerged as winners of an Inter-Matrix Chess Competition organised here recently. The one-day event was held here at the Metrix Chess Academy to commemorate the Holi festival.
Altogether, 40 chess players from the Academy’s Agartala and Udaipur branches participated. The 5-round tournament was divided into two divisions.
Tripura Body Builders and Fitness Association Treasurer Govind Saha, eminent physician Devdulal Das, Matrix Chess Academy's Petron Prabodh Ranjan Dutta and Coach Kiriti Dutta graced the prize distribution ceremony.
Govind Saha, treasurer of Tripura Body Builders and Fitness Association, said at the award ceremony, "The role of Matrix Chess Academy in the development of chess in Tripura is indisputable. I believe that the academy will continue to work like this in the future and bring out new talents."
He gave an assurance to stand by the metrics in the future as well. Besides, he urged those chess players who did not get the prize to prepare for the future without breaking down.
Tripura Body Builders and Fitness Association President Tanoy Das congratulated the winning chess players even though he could not attend the prize distribution ceremony owing to private enjoyments.
Undefeated champion Prabjot Bhattacharya scored 5 points in 5 rounds in the under-7 category. Rudraj Das of Udaipur branch got 4 points and Ayanjit Nag of Agartala branch got 2nd and 3rd place respectively. In Vocals the Tejaswini Poddar and Advit Mazumder got 4th and 5th place by getting 3 points. 4 people were top by getting 4 points in 5 rounds in open category.
Sangeet Das (1596), Andeep Acharya (1453), Rudranil Debnath (1419) and Rudra Majumdar occupied the first 4 positions in Vocals respectively. Sudipta Roy of the Udaipur branch took fifth place by getting 3 points.
Apart from awarding the winners, medals were awarded to all chess players who participated in the event. Coach Kiriti Dutta thanked everyone for the successful completion of the event.
