AGARTALA, February 20, 2024: Riddhiman Saha has brought about a transformation in Tripura cricket similar to that of Sourav Ganguly's impact on Indian cricket. Saha's move from Bengal to Tripura has elevated the cricket scene in the hill state, and his presence has had a significant impact on the entire dressing room.
His experience and leadership have helped the players reach their full potential and instilled an attitude of excellence among them. Saha deserves credit for Tripura's recent success, including their victory over Mumbai in the one-day matches.
In the Ranji season, Tripura has collected 17 points in 7 matches, with close matches against Karnataka and the Railways. These experiences will serve as valuable lessons for the team's future progress.
Currently, in the 'C' group, Tripura is ahead of teams like Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Gujarat and Railways. All-rounder Mani Shankar Murasingh has been the standout performer, with 293 runs and 30 wickets.
Among the newcomers, Vikram Debnath has impressed with 205 runs and 10 wickets, while Sridam Pal has contributed 257 runs, including a century. Another newcomer, Parvez Sultan, has also caught attention with 16 wickets.
Veteran cricket enthusiasts in the state believe that, with proper training, Tripura's cricketers will excel at the national level in the future.
