They are encouraging Naga youths in field of sculpture making

REGIONAL, June 22, 2024: Three Naga youths namely: Bode Swüro 24, Longusie Nyuthe, 25 and Neivito Vitsü 27, all bachelor degree holders in Fine Art (Specialisation on sculpture and painting) formed a team named 3Atifs on August 28 2023 under the theme “Rendering Creativity”. The main purpose of the 3Atifs was to generate income as entrepreneurs for self-sufficiency and at the same time to encourage the Naga youths in the field of sculpture making.
Interestingly, they shared how ideas struct in their minds to start a collaborative team for our people. It all sparks when they were sharing and chatting across a table over a cup of coffee. Talented trio from different tribes and background narrated that they have come to Kohima in the month of November where they shared a small rent together and started their journey preparing for the Hornbill.
The 3Atifs extended gratitude to the Art and Culture Department, Government of Nagaland for welcoming them, when they approached to open a stall at Kisama, Kohima which was their first exhibition as a team.
Gradually, they have participated in various exhibitions, workshops, and competitions. Some of the recent activities include - the North East Youth Festival, National Youth Festival, Winning competitions and participated at Art Mart Exhibition, Khajuraho, Madhya Predesh.
They worked according to the demand of the people and take commission from the locals, outside the state as well as aboard. Currently, they are working on some commission from the state. The team member said that they are using medium materials such as Fiber, Wood, Cement and Pop.
At present, the 3Atifs is located at Leriechazoü, near Veterinary Farm, Kohima. They also said that, it has been quite hectic for workload since the beginning of the year, and their works vary from miniature to Lifesize or even bigger depending on the clients’ request. While expressing their happiness and acknowledgement, for the support and appreciation coming from the people, the trio said, they are also planning to organise a workshop for the students and interested person in the future.
