Pushpabanta Palace to become national museum

AGARTALA, March 29 2023: Magnificent Pushpabanta palace at Agartala which for decades used as Governor House will soon become a tourist and cultural hub. Tripura government has decided to transform the once royal guest house into a national Museum.
Commonly known as Kunjaban Palace it was built by Maharaja Birendra Kishore Manikya in 1917. It was used as Raj Bhavan or Governor’s House till shifted to a space within limit of the new capital complex.
State’s tourism minister Sushanta Chowdhury Wednesday inspected the 1.76 hectare palace where maintenance and repairing work is curently in progress. The minister hoped that the palace will begin its new journey soon.
