Prostitution racket uncovered in Agartala city

AGARTALA, July 17 2020: Police made several arrests after uncovering a sex racket here on Friday. At least six of the detainees are girls who hail from different downtown localities.

Law enforcers achieved the success after raiding a hotel on the BK Road. Some girls were caught red-handed; one of them was even in found stripped.  

Police said a girl suffered fracture on a leg after she jumped from the rooftop in a foiled desperate escape bid. She was rushed to a hospital.

The detainees gave police some vital information about the kingpins and other girls involved in the racket. More arrests are expected soon, police said.

Manager of the hotel was also picked up for questioning.

Agartala city so far was free from organised prostitution though sporadic arrests were made off and on.
