NATIONAL, July 27, 2024: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has stressed the ambition of every Indian to achieve Viksit Bharat@2047, a goal that he believes can be achieved through the combined efforts of all states. He highlighted the importance of states playing an active role in achieving this goal, as they are directly connected with the people.
Speaking at the 9th Governing Council Meeting of NITI Aayog at New Delhi Saturday Modi also highlighted the opportunities and changes that India is experiencing in the coming decade, including technological and geo-political changes. He emphasised the need for policies that are conducive to international investments and believe that this is the stepping stone for progress towards becoming a developed nation.
Prime Minister identified the youth of India as a significant attraction for the world due to its workforce. He felt the need for skill, research, innovation, and job-based knowledge to make Viksit Bharat@2047. He appreciated the Aspirational Districts Programme, which he said is a key to its success.
He also encouraged the creation of River Grids at the state level for effective water resource utilisation.
The Governing Council Meeting of NITI Aayog discussed the Approach Paper for the Vision Document on Viksit Bharat@2047, which aims to foster participative governance and collaboration between the Centre and State Governments. The meeting also discussed the role of states in achieving the goal of Viksit Bharat@2047.
NITI Aayog has stated that India is on track to become the world's third-largest economy with GDP exceeding five trillion dollars and aspirations to reach a 30 trillion dollar economy by 2047. Achieving the vision of a 'Viksit Bharat' by 2047 will require a collaborative approach between the Centre and State governments.
