Playgrounds serve as inspiration to youth: Chief Minister

Said committed to advance sports setup in urban, rural areas

AGARTALA, November 23, 2024: Dr Manik Saha highlighted the significance of sports in rural areas noting that the government has taken measures to improve sports infrastructure in both urban and rural regions of the state. The development of synthetic turf, tracks and Astroturf has been implemented to foster sports talent.

These comments were made by the Chief Minister during the final match of the Atal Smriti Knockout Football Competition at the Matinagar XII School Ground Saturday. He stressed the importance of playgrounds as a source of inspiration for individuals to overcome future challenges and mentioned the central government's Khelo India initiative for sports development.

The state government has also undertaken various projects to nurture sports talent, Dr Saha added. The knockout football competition was organised by the Motinagar Play Center with the final match played between Mohanpur's Saptarashmi and the local team Border King XI.
